It is a rare noble metal that belongs to the platinum group. Rhodium is a hard, silvery-white, durable metal that has a high reflectance. Rhodium (Greek rhodon (ῥόδον) meaning "rose") was discovered in 1803 by William Hyde Wollaston, soon after his discovery of palladium.The name rhodon comes from the rose color obtained in laboratory in a chemical reaction chlorine compounds.
